CRITERIA FOR REPORTING SEVERE WEATHER

TO NET CONTROL


  1. Call, Precise Location, and Spotter number.

  2. Speak clearly and slowly.  Make sure you can be understood.

  3. Rainfall amounts of 1/4 inch or more in a ½ hour.

  4. Any storm producing heavy flooding rain, or flooding conditions away from the storm location.

  5. Tornado or funnel clouds.

  6. Thunderstorms with high winds (measured or estimated) or frequent cloud to ground lightning.

  7. Hail, with size estimates for larger stones. 

  8. Wind speeds of 40 mph or greater, and how it was obtained.

  9. Any kind of weather related damage.

  10. Visibility of less than ½ mile caused by anything.
